Sader Ridge

This past Autumn, Trip Like Animals was asked to create and record music for a local indie film, Sader Ridge.*  This was a huge undertaking but also a very cool learning experience.  One of the best parts of the whole experience was that Joseph and Douglas were given total creative freedom.  And lucky me, I got to play a part in the music making m'self!

After everything was recorded and mixed, Joseph sent it to the producer to have it edited.  At that point, all changes in dynamics and timing were out of his hands.  Needless to say, it was a nerve-wracking time.  As artists, we're putting out a musical part of our soul, trying to express emotions that we hope the audience feels more intensely when they watch the film.  

Over the weekend, we had the privilege of going to the premiere that was shown for the cast, crew and contributors.  We had been awaiting this day, to see how the score would be received.  Much to our relief, it was affective! It was also an amazing feeling to be personally acknowledged (my full name is in the credits!) and to meet with the director, producer and cast. 

So thankful for this opportunity to work with local talent on this indie film project, and hope that there are more to come in the future!
